How can I find out the difference between the "medium" and "medium-
high" settings?
they both list the same selected options, but they behave differently.
it seems that "medium" has some caching going on.

It's simply the same. Don't worry about it.

I'd doubt it/OK, I won't.

It's not "simply the same." I was just at the Logan Airport in Boston and had
to set my Internet Explorer 7 down to Medium Security for my internet zone to
be able to use the WIFI there. Medium-High didn't work. There is a difference
and it would be helpful to know what that is so I can use Custom Settings
instead of using Medium security.

The OP's question made me curious so I did some digging. There isn't much
published about this, but what I did find I turned into a post on my blog.

(Also referenced in Steve's new blog entry)

Personally, I'd say the WiFi network wasn't very secure if a webpage wasn't
accessible with Internet zone set to the default Medium-High.

Thank you Steve and PA Bear. This is just the information I was scouring the
internet for. I couldn't find anything explaining the exact differences and
this is just what I needed.

YW & thanks for your feedback.

[We still have no idea what anyone's full Windows version is.]
