For no reason that is apparent to me, IE7 now opens with the message
"Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled".

When I open IE7 using favorites, it opens normally but when it opens having
used a link from an email [windows mail] I get the error message.

When IE7 opens with the message, the  Tools / Manage add-ons option is
greyed out.

My operating system is Vista Business  and is completely up to date.   This
problem has only started happening today.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Frank for your response.
I'm afraid that does not help!
That seems to work for one page only and the next time I open IE7 via a
link, the same thing happens.
And did you mean   Start / run ?
I have narrowed it down to a Windows Defender setting and am keeping my
fingers crossed.

Christopher,

This message appears when Internet Explorer is opened with add-ons disabled.
To run Internet Explorer normally (with add-ons turned on), make sure to
select Internet Explorer on the Start menu and do not select Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

Go to the shortcut and remove the last line that says iexplore.exe -noext
and thera you go. Only use iexplore.exe.

I'm having the same problem.....it only occurs with links from within an
email.  If I cut and paste directly into explorer it works.

It's making me crazy!
