Why is the default for updating rss feeds 1 day? How can I change this for a
whole group of feeds to something else?

Greetings

right click on the feed in the RSS favorties window , chose properties, then
set your refresh rate. With that said i will tell you that it doesn't always
work.

Yes, I know how to do it for one feed. My question was how to do it for a
wholegroup of feeds........

I am having the same issue and feeds do not seem to be updating
automatically, on any periodic basis.

AS far as I can tell it never updates the RSS until you right-click and hit
"Refresh". Clearly a bug...

That seems to be the case, unless I'm missing something. The auto refresh
doesn't seem to be working.

Yes, i'm aware that the updating is errorprone. But my main problem is that
the default updatetime is once a day. One can chamge that to say 15 minutes
but on a per rss-feed change base only. I want to be able to change this
parameter to a whole group of feeds....... If that is too difficult, maybe
make it then possible to change the default.......

Greetings from a very stormy Holland,

Rufus,
From what I've seen, it's more dependent on the feed itself. On some of mine
I can go as low as every 15 minutes, others show a "feed minimum" of either
30 minutes or 1440 minutes. Since IE can't control it, it doesn't let you set
an across the board update schedule.

It would just be nice if the update schedule worked...

Wow - the average schmo isn't going to know that.  Maybe a small note should
be added to the stylesheet indicating how often IE7 will check the feed for
updates (based upon the property settings), and then a click to change this
value, if desired.

For me it never works! i.e. it never automaticaly refreshes any feed.

It would be helpfull if a right click on the "View Feeds" button gave an
option to refresh selected feed. or feeds if it were possible to select
multiple items in the list.

You can update the default timing by going to tools-->Internet Options and
going to the content page. There is a settings button for the feeds and there
you can set the default timing.
