How to turn off Certificate Wanrings?

I work across several servers and environments, testing web-based apps. Every
time I load a page from one of my servers, I get the error about the
certificate being bad, and have to click again to load the page. That, and
the red address bar, are pretty annoying. There should be some way to turn
that off, right?
I've tried going through the "import certificate" routine for each of the
sites, but that doesn't seem to fix it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. Frustrating.

You need to import the root certificate into the trusted store.  See

step-by-step set of instructions.

Hi Cathy,

In the long run complain to the web site. I recently did an assignment for a
government jobs site and found them to be very concerned with user ease of
access and satisfaction.

In the mean time check your Security settings on the Advanced tab of
Internet Options
try
uncheck - "Check for publishers certificate revocation" (make sure you
recheck this when you've finished)
uncheck - "Check for server certificate revocation"

You may want to note what they currently are, so that you can change them
back to their default settings when you have finished visiting the site.

On the Content Tab of Internet Options you will find a listing of
Certificates (Certificates button, Other People tab) which should list the
certificate issued by the web site. Press the View button to inspect its
details and whether it has expired or not.

More than likely, the site certificate has expired and they have to renew
it. Most government sites contract out their IT and they probably didn't
even know they had such a thing... so complain to the web site.

One last thing.... if you have not used the site for quite some time, and
find that your old login id and password aren't working it may be that they
have removed your login from their database. Their site Terms and Contidions
of Use page or their Privacy report should tell you how long they retain
your logon details.

Regards.

Hi again Cathy,

When visiting a site with certificates, you can quickly view the certificate
from the File>Properties menu, press the "Certificates" button on the
Properties page.

Hi Cathy,

That certain government web site that I did an assignment for just renewed
their certificate on the 22/7 (two days ago)... I have a suspicion that you
and I are talking about the same site.

Regards.

Is a proxy involved?   E.g. using Fiddler2 could cause this symptom.
