I was hoping this would be resolved by now after being assured by some
Microsoft MVP's that their internal build of IE7 was working fine.  Can
anybody confirm this or offer helpful suggestions?  If so, it would be
appreciated.  Thank you.

Click on any video link on this page, for instance:
http://www.foxnews.com/hannityandcolmes/index.html

The yellow area remains blank in the resulting Video Player Window where the
video should be appearing.

Hmm...I thought it was just me!  I was trying to watch Foxnews videos earlier
today and had the same problem.  I'll try to e-mail Foxnews.com and ask them
to check into IE7 compatibility.

It is (compatible with Fox video).   That's one of the first things I tested
with the 'new and not much improved' IE7.  Works ok here.

Well, I get the following error as an example:

Line:  132
Char:  3
Error: 'd_video_ad_intro' is undefined
Code: 0
URL:  http://www.foxnews.com//video2/player06.html?..........etc.

It works fine for me.  I also have WMP11 Beta2 installed.

I have WMP 10 Final Release installed.  I would surprised to hear that
having a Beta version of WMP is necessary for this.  Thanks for the
feedback, though.

I have the exact same problem... Folks, what do we need to do top fix this?
This is an issue with Adobe Flash Player 9 and I.E. 7.

Update:

It looks like this is an issue only with Fox.com. Flash 9 works fine on
other sites... Very strange...

Have you got any other sites which have the same symptom
in a similar scenario?

This one is getting hung up trying to respond to  ad.doubleclick.net
for me.   I'm not blocking it so there must be something wrong with that
server.

Oh.   Apparently it doesn't want me to use  FiddlerTool  (or presumably
any proxy server such as ProxOmitron).   Further I can't get anywhere
on that site unless I have scripting allowed.

So, make sure that you are using the default security settings
and not blocking any of its advertising.

Foxnews.com replied to my e-mail about the issues:

"Thanks for writing. Since IE7 was in beta when we relaunched, we didn't
support it. We've added the IE7 issues to our bugs list now, however, and
will address them.

Interesting. I have an XP machine running IE7 Beta 3 and it works fine on it,
however my vista machine has the same issues...

Trevor,
The problem is that the Fox News Video Player screen uses "*.doubleclick.net"
and
if the security on the IE7 Browser restricted this site, then you will not
get the Player
to work correctly. Check your Internet Explorer Properties under
Tools>Internet Options>
Security>Trusted Sites and make sure "*.doubleclick.net" is added as a
trusted site.
If you can't add it, then on the same Window, search "Restricted Sites" for
"*.doubleclick.net"
and remove the entry. Good Luck. Vern

Thanks - the solution worked for me.  I have been searching for months for
this information and I am most grateful for the information.
