When viewing a photo opening  using IE 7, I will right click on the photo and
click on Save As but when I click on Ok, I get the following error:
"Could not complete the operation due to error 800700de". This is only
happen with IE 7, and at some not all images. Any idea or suggestions?

I'm having the same problem.  If you find out, please be sure to come back
and post the solution. Thanks.

The work around if you care is to right click on the image, and then click on
Email Picture.... A box will appear, go ahead and cancel the box and you
should now be able to use Save Picture As to copy the image. I tried the
suggestions from Sandi with no success.

Sounds like an out of memory/overfull cache to me.  Empty your cache, make
sure it is no larger than 150 meg and try running IE7 in no add-ons mode.

The email address I use for newsgroups is a spam trap and does not get read.

Sandi,
he suggestions did not resolve my issue. I can save the image using Copy
feature but not Save As, however, if I right click a photo, click on Email
Picture, then cancel the next dialogue box that comes up, then I can use Save
As feature and will copy the image.

This did not work for me either .

I have noticed on one page that when viewing the source an image included as
follows:-

<img id="Header1_mainHeader" src="images/main_header.jpg" alt="" border="0"
style="Z-INDEX: 101; LEFT: 2px; POSITION: absolute; TOP: 2px" />

can be saved from the right mouse click OK

but one included using the following code :-

<input type="image" name="imgChart" id="imgChart" class="normal"
src="chart3.aspx" alt="" border="0" style="LEFT: 0px; TOP: 1px" />

I cannot save unless going through the email image, cancel dialog box and
then save routine.

I am on IE7 Version 7.0.5730.11

a colleague is on IE7 that came with the vista install (presumably a
different version) and does not appear to have this problem

A bit more information I was wrong about the vista version

7.0.5112.0 Beta 1  experiences a slightly different issue, when saving the
HTML graph the filename needs to be specifically suffixed when an appropriate
image format.

I Hope this helps find this bug
regards
Richard

With Vista- Internet Explorer 7.0.6000.16386 attempting to save the HTML
chart invokes a file block error, if ‘E-mail the picture’ is used all is well
and if one tries to subsequently save the chart the browser works correctly

Yep, the same happens to me, but the difference is that I am developing the
page that has those ".aspx" as the image source. It works as a page that
checks a couple of things before displaying the picture to the user. It's
sent back to the client through a Response.Clear /
Response.WriteFile(imagePath).

This just adds some more info, but doesn't really solve anything =/

Steps:
1) Right click on the photo/image on the webpage that generates the error
code 800700de
2) Select the "Email Picture" option on the context menu.
3) Choose the radio button for "Keep Original Sizes" and click ok.
4) Wait to see the logo displayed as attachment in your Outlook/Outlook
Express "New Email content window"
5) Right click on the attached image and save as to any location of your
choice.
