whenever I open a new web page, a blank window of about:blank comes up and a new screen on the left of the web page opens as well. How do I get rid of this? Its irritating, and I don't remember changing anything to do this, so I don't know how to fix it. Thanks. I'm not sure what you're discribing here. When you open a web page are you opening up a shortcut and when it opens you get an ie7 windows and possibly an older ie6 window with a blank? We've seen that before. Or are you saying you open up ie and one pops up with your home page and another opens up with a blank. Seen that too. SORRY FIRST TIME SO I SENT A BLANK BEFORE, SECOND SCENARIO IS WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME, CANT RID MYSELF O THE THING, LUCKILY I CAN GET ON WITH THINGS FOR A WHILE, UNTILL IT HAPPENS A COUPLE MORE TIMES, THEN DEGRADATION OF SPEED SETS IN, PROB DUE TO PLETORA OF SBOUT BLANKS ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN... For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you owe it to the author.
