Is there a way to eliminate the address and search boxes on the toolbar.  I
have them on my start bar so I would like to save the space on the toolbar.
Also, why can I not move the 'home', 'printer', etc. icons to another row of
the tool bar?

"By Design" Microsoft has removed almost all of it's previous functionality
in order to add the new tabbing system. Most of all the cool things you could
do to customize your interface are gone. When it comes to menu bars your only
options are to have them or not have them. Sorry but that was their choice to
think people didn't rely on that stuff. I recommend uninstalling ie7.

Thanks for your honest answer.  Uninstalling ie7 sounds a little scary.  How
do I get back to 6?  Thanks for your help . . . and shame on MS for such a
lack of flexibility.

You can hide the search box using a registry file at
http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/tweaks.asp but cannot remove the address bar.  If
you want to save space, I recommend that you use Full Screen mode.  This will
eliminate the title bar.  You can then press Alt+Space and select or deselect
Auto-Hide to your liking.

By the way, NetFodder is just telling everyone to uninstall IE7 rather than
fix problems.  Although uninstalling does fix any problem, I think it is
better to stick with IE7 and try to get it to work.  IE7 has improved
security and rendering that is utilised by other Microsoft and non-Microsoft
applications.  For example, going to Print Preview in the Wordpad Help file
will bring up the IE7 Print Preview window instead of the IE6 Print Preview
window.

I appreciate your ideas.  I'll try eliminating the search box but I don't
want to run ie in full screen.  Maybe you're right about other ie7 benefits.

Has anyone had any luck finding a way to clean up the toolbar so we can move
the icons around and concense everything to a single line? At work they
suggest we use Internet Explorer, bu the bulkiness of IE7 is aggravating.

Any help is appreciated!

The IE 7 toolbars cannot be put on a single line.

[If minor things like that make you aggravated I think you ought to
reexamine your priorities in life.]

Well, it's annoying to see all that blank space not being used!

Hello Ruibo,

You can achieve this with Quero, a replacement for the fixed navigation bar
of IE7.
