Don's suggestion worked. I searched for Motive SB.exe. Right-clicked it and
opened its folder. Next to it was the PSAPI.dll it was groaning about. I
renamed this PSAPIOLD.dll - all now seems to be resolved.

Ok I give up I have the symptom but unable to find psapi.dll anywhere on the
c: drive. Help!

Hi,
PSAPI.DLL shouldn't be a hidden file. Are you sure that you allowed time for
the search? Typed psapi.dll correctly? Is there one in C:\WINDOWS\system32 ?

Now I did search after I had removed v7. I also looked in 'my documents' ...
motive directory & there was nothing there :-(.
