I cannot delete the microsoft redirection to ninemsn as my home page. I have
removed it under the home tab and tools, internet options, use about blank. I
do not want a home page. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
These and other third-party programs can lock the IE homepage. Examine the
settings of security/privacy/antispyware programs for a lock homepage
option.
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Ad-aware Pro
Norton AV 2006 (Web browsing> Spyware protection...)
Spyware Blaster
Spysweeper
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5 Reported to be fixed in later versions.

If you don't wish to dig through settings of whichever security/privacy
programs you have installed, you could startup in Safe Mode, change the
homepage then restart. But... it's a good idea to check these settings
occasionally.

Hope this helps,

You're welcome. Those security programs can't always distinguish between a
good change and a bad one.

Thanks Don, I could not find a setting or selection in my Sympatico Security
Manager so I shut it down, went through the IE7 setup questions, then through
the home page setup/change procedure and all worked fine.  I then turned my
securtiy SW back on.............everything AOK.

First click on a blank tab.
Put in something useful like www.google.co.uk into the address bar and bring
up the site.
Stay in the tab.
Go to the top icons.
Use the drop down alongside the little house.
click Add or Change Homepage ...
you will be offered 3 options.
select "Use this web page as your only home page."
Click the yes button
close IE 7 and re-open
voila!

Yes, it is MSs way of making it really difficult and hoping you will fade
and accept their offering.
