When I start IE7, I get an error message 'ASSERT IN LSP' Iexplore.exe
g.socket_data.lookup(s)==0
capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp\patches.ccp:1381

Can anyone help with fixing this problem

start without add-ons. Then get rid of the problem add-on. Scan for
malware.

I'd like to know if anyone has heard of doing a "winsock repair" to correct
an LSP problem? I was told this by my antivirus software tech support. It
seems that the problem started when I installed the Panda Antivirus 2007
software that is supposed to be compatible with Vista.

Why should it do that?

Clearly points to Google Desktop and Lotus Notes (not as the culprit, it seems
to suffer from Google desktop as well).

In XP, I have seen things that screw up the LSP, usually malware.
Running lspfix.exe fixed that in XP (Google is your friend).
In XP SP2, you could also repair the winsock from the command line
start>run>netsh winsock reset  was the command as I remember.

I think the problem might be panda antivirus.  I installed panda antivirus
also, and that is when I started getting the assert in ls alerts.  I am going
to uninstall panda and go back to my old antivirus and will report back.

UPDATE...I uninstalled panda antivirus and no more prolbems with the assert
in lsp alerts.  Everything works again.  So panda must not be 100% windows
vista compatible yet.  Todays date is March 29, 2007.  Also when I had panda
installed,  the computer kept telling me that I need to install the printers
drivers, and after the unintall, that is no longer happening either.

Windows XP and all with Panda Internet Security and am only recieving the
error on one machine.  Any thoughts?

I  have a Dell running Vista with Panda virus protection and after installing
Panda the error message problem happened too.

It resolved when I uninstalled google desktop.

Thanks for the help.
