At first I didn't like IE7 but I grew to enjoy the tabbing feature even
though the menu bars aren't where I'm used to. Lately I've been having
nothing but problems. It no longer allows me to right click on a
webpage to either open a new window/tab or even save a picture. The
only way I can get it to is by closing another IE window/tab. When this
happens the menu bar disappears. I right click in the upper bar to make
sure menu bar is selected (it allows me to click there) and it's always
checked. But when I try to uncheck it won't. It also seems to love
getting hung up with a "connecting" message in a new window. Sometimes
it won't even allow me to open internet explorer in general unless I
close a previous IE window/tab. Now I REALLY hate IE7.

Now, go and try to run OE a few times and log onto a newsgroup. Every now
and then it FREEZES since I installed ie7.
I think IE7 must make major changes to almost everything, including the
funtioning of OE.

I deleted OE a long time ago.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.................
Why did you switch? Did OE feeze or crash?
What do you use now? I am very interested.
I wouldn't mind switching at all.
Thanks.

Dear End User,
Be prepared to be blamed for everything that is wrong with
IE7.

Non-computer nerd user of IE6.
If you don't like Internet Explorer 7, and want to go back to IE6,
go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
Find Windows Internet Explorer 7, highlight it, and click "Remove".
That will take you back to IE6. The roll-back process worked
for me, for which I am grateful to Microsoft.

The most common cause of hanging at 'connecting' is incompatible add-ons.
Try running without add-ons. (Tools - Manage Add-Ons - Enable disable
add-ons)
Disable all the addons currently loaded in internet explorer.
If this helps then start adding them back in one at a time till problem
comes back.
You should close and re-open IE7 after each change but you do not need to
reboot, so changes are quick to check.
(In my case it was Microsoft Desktop Search) When you locate the problem
consider going to the origional web site and installing the latest version
of the problem item.
You can also try resetting the IE7. (Tools - Internet Options - Advanced -
Reset Internet Explorer settings) This has cleared up some problems for a
few people.

IE7 is trash. Microsoft needs to do a Ctrl+Z on the entire project.
Undo Undo Undo!
IE6 was also rubbish so it isn't the solution either. The only solution is
for IE8 to be released STANDARD COMPLIANT and then force the auto-update on
everyone so as to remove from the internet the permanent blemishes that are
<= IE7.
(not that I have high hopes of IE8 being standards compliant at all)
Please remove the zooming feature if you cannot get it to work correctly
like it does in Opera. Scale all elements, not just text and images. If you
are going to scale down a <div> that has a FIXED WIDTH specified then you
need to equally scale down all elements INSIDE that div so they don't end up
spraying all over the page. IE7 fails to do this. Go install Opera and see
it done correctly.

Hi,
Disable all add-ons from IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Re-enable them one at a
time until the problem returns. The last to be re-enabled is causing the
problem.
Recently, the add-on for Adobe Flash Player 9 has been causing problems. See
the message from BWolfe in this thread:

Hope this helps,
