I have 3 pcs running Windows XP and similar software on each. Two of the pcs
updated to IE7 with no problems during the normal Windows update but the
other I have a problem with. The software installs with no apparent problem
but when the pc restarts I start getting error messages concerning 'Entry
Point not Found' and 'GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the
dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL'. Programs such as Outlook won't run nor will
IE7 open. I either use System Restore or Control Panel to uninstall IE7 and
my pc then seems to run ok. I have tried installing IE7 in safe mode and
with all virus and anti-adware programs disabled. I have even changed Mcafee
IS for Norton AV as I thought that this may be the problem (Norton running on
my other machines). I have used Registry mechanic to clean up my registry
but this also has not helped. Any suggestions most gratefully received.

Hi,
Go to http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html Look for "PSAPI Errors"
about 3/4 down the page.
Hope this helps,

Hi Emanuel,
'Entry point not found' error indicates that you have the wrong version of
the file PSAPI.Dll
Here is a search result link that gives you instructions
http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/askjack/2006/11/ie7_glitch_with_psapidll.html
mmm. Apparently it has something to do with BT Broadband.
Regards.
