How to add trusted site?

This is a trivial problem but it has been a headache to me to the point that
I have almost given up on IE7.

I need IE to start up with a certain home page. This page is actually on my
computer (the same computer on which I am using IE). The page has some
Javascript, and every time I start IE it gives me the warning "IE has
restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could
access your computer."

As a result, the page does not fully load until I click through the "Allow
Blocked Content" and "Are you sure?" dialogs. This is incredibly annoying.

I thought I could solve this problem by setting my home page as a "Trusted
Site". I went through the <Tools> <Internet Options> <Security> menu to add
my home page to the trusted sites list. I get a dialog box in which I am
supposed to type in the URL of the site and click the "Add" button.

However, it does not accept what I type as a valid URL. I have tried:

  H:\Files\Webs\Mine\index.html
  file:\\H:\Files\Webs\Mine\index.html
  file:///H:/Files/Webs/Mine/index.html

Nothing works. When I try to add the site, I keep getting the message "You
have entered an invalid wildcard sequence."

Could someone tell me how to add a local file on my hard drive to IE's list
of trusted sites?

Thanks.

Add a MOTW (mark of the web) as a first line to your page. Google for it. This
is nothing new to IE7, it's there since at least XP SP2.

Of course, not. None of the four internet zones shown contains the local disk.

Thanks, Kai.

I added the line:

  <!-- saved from url=(0014)about:internet -->

to my files and this did the trick. I hope I used the correct form for the
Mark of the Web. I know it works since I no longer get the Information Bar
popup, I just hope that it's the most secure way possible for doing this.

I do trust the javascript on the page, since I wrote it myself.

sure you did.

That is what it is for. If you allow all active content on the local
computer this is not only for your own pages and might be a security risk.
