I have my Favorites permanently pinned on the left side.  Since downloading
IE7, the width of this window gradually shifts to the right every time I open
the program.  Does anyone else have this problem and know how to stop it?

Hi Tom,

There was a previous post about this. Unfortunately it appears to be a
feature of the current version. The width of the favorites center is stored
in the registry and is re-calculated and written to the registry each time
the browser is closed. Unfortunately the recalculation always adds 1 pixel
to the width (probably a rounding error, round up i/o round down).

Hopefully a MS IE7 developer will see your post (this is a public newsgroup,
but we do suspect that they view the posts here from time to time), and
slate it for fixing in the next round of updates.

Regards.

Thanks, Rob!  Good to know.

I've just discovered this problem during Silverlight debugging & it is
particularly unhelpful. It's been over a year since this post so I would
appreciate a reply from MS.

If you'd like a "reply from MS" you need to write to them. This public
newsgroup is made up of your fellow users. Nobody works for Microsoft or
represents Microsoft."

It only happens when the bar is pinned (aka docked)
so you could avoid the symptom by using the Favorites Center
unpinned (which is the default way to use it.)

Hi,

Thanks for the reminder. I just retested IE8 beta and it is still there. I
have posted a report on connect.

https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=352116

You can vote for it there.

Regards.
