I need a little help and advice about something. I installed the Internet
Explorer 7 from the Microsoft Update Site and it got hung up (stuck) before
it started doing anything and then after a very long time I just gave up
thinking that nothing was gonna happen at all and then I clicked cancel. Upon
doing this nothing again happened for a very very long time and then I went
to Ctrl, Alt, Del to stop whatever process was running in the background and
after a long while it showed me what was running and I don't remember at all
what it was and then I clicked End Process and after a long while a Window
came up and showed that it was extracing files from the Internet Explorer 7
download and then that was it.

Now as a result of me doing this, it works fine and all, but the only real
problem that I'm experiencing with it is that I can't open any more than 2 or
3 different tabs at one time, and then if I try to open in another tab it
crashes and then I lose everything and I have to start all over again. I
don't have this problem on other computers with the tabbed browsing as I can
open as many as I want to by going to as many sites as I want to by right
clicking on any link and opening them up one by one in several separate tabs.
Do you have a solution for this problem that I'm experiencing here? Please
tell me what to do. Do I need to uninstall and re-install it or re-install it
by writing itself over the one that's already on the computer itself or do
you have a hotfix or a fix that will fix this problem as well?

I tried to go to the Add/Remove Programs and tried to uninstall it from
there but when I did I got this message: The following programs were
installed on your computer after Internet Explorer 7. It shows all of the
programs that I installed since then and it also shows the Security Update
for Windows Internet Explorer 7 as well as the Update for Windows XP. At the
bottom of this window it says this: If these programs depend on Internet
Explorer 7, they might not work properly after it is removed. Do you want to
continue?

My question is this: If I were to uninstall and then install it again would
these programs it's talking about all work even though I re-install it as if
it never ever happened at all by re-installing it again, as if I never ever
installed it at all after re-installing it or would I run into more problems
doing it this way with the programs themselves or Internet Explorer 7 or
other things along the way as well also? My biggest concern and fear if I did
it the wrong way is the Security Update for Windows Internet Explorer 7 and
the Update for Windows XP themselves.

Please answer all of my questions and advise me on what the best possible
solution to the problem that I have at hand as I want to continue to enjoy
Internet Explorer 7 the way that it was meant to be enjoyed for my very own
personal Internet Experience. Thank you very much and have a great day!!!

Hi,
I'd rather not post inline, but...  ;-)

Don ::: Yep, the IE7 install took a while.

Don :::
You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.

Installing the latest version of the troublesome add-on may resolve this, or
the add on may not yet be compatible with IE7.

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the
problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be causing
this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop.
.

A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but turn on the
Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite.

Don :::
This warning about other programs will *probably* not be a problem. It would
only affect a program which depends on IE or a particular version of IE. You
can always reinstall the program.
Regarding updates: Visit Windows Update after reinstalling IE7.

Don :::
Important information regarding the installation of IE7:

Hope this helps,
