i cant access any webpage with ie7, if i write any page at the adress
bar and press enter, a windows popup called "address bar" that says
the page is unavaliable, like for example, ("http://www.google.com" is
currently unavaliable.) and if i click on any page from my favorites,
it just show a Blank page.
I was working fine a few weeks ago, and since i mainly use Firefox, i
dont know the exact moment it stop working, but since i havent install
anything new i cant narrow the problem.
i tried resetting ie7 options and deleting any temp file but noting
change.
I dont use firewall, not even the winxp one, my antivirus is avast (i
also tried IE after disable it but same)
I have also a few friends (2 to be exact) that i think have the same
problem, but since they live far and they aren't really good with
computer, i havent been able to confim this, they just told me
something among the lines of "My internet wasnt working, i couldnt go
to any page, so i call Brighthouse, the technician delete Internet
explorer and now im using mozilla"
I'm fearing that it was a "Windows update" that cause the problem, so
i will like some help figuring this out.
Thank you

Hi,
The reset button would have disabled add-ons, but try IE again with add-ons
disabled.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.
The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the
problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be causing
this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop.
A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but turn on the
Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite.

Uninstalling/reinstalling IE7 may help. Antimalware programs should be
disabled during the installation.
See http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html for other important
information.

This may be a malware problem- adware, spyware, hijacker, trojan, etc.

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?
To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:
Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or
Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

2. If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) and don't
reinstall it, does this behavior persist?
