When you ask a question about Internet Explorer please mention which
version of Internet Explorer you have and which version of Windows.
If I guess correctly that there is a typo in the Subject line and so you
have IE 7: Do you have the same trouble when you run IE without add-ons?
If you have XP: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

I'm experiencing the same problem with IE7 (windows xp). Don't have trouble
when running without add-ons.
Is there a way to figure out what add-on is causing the problem?

Start IE normally.
Use Tools | Manage Add-ons to disable all add-ons
Restart IE.
Make sure it still closes okay.
Then enable the add-ons one at a time until you find the culprits and
uninstall them.
