my I.E. has stopped working again. this is the second time. i am running windows vista and have already tried using with add ons disabled and resetting I.E. nothing has helped. the first time this happened i had to just reinstall my vista O.S. to get explorer to work again. i do not want to do this again. i have also noticed that when this happens my AIM instant messenger will also not work. any ideas??? Unfortunately, the only thing you've told us is that "I E has stopped working". That's not nearly enough information for anyone to help you. I understand that you're frustrated. You have to understand that no one can help you unless you provide a sufficiently detailed description of your symptoms. What exactly does "stopped working" mean? Are you seeing any error messages? What are you doing when Internet Explorer runs into trouble? Are you having any other symptoms when trouble starts - please describe in detail. Does Event Viewer have any information that might help? Could your computer be infected with malicious software (virus, adware, trojan, spyware, hijacker, etc.) Could any settings in your security software be interfering with Internet Explorer? Could the problem lie with your connection to the internet? Error message in Internet Explorer 7: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926431/en-us To be sure that your computer is free of malicious software you need to use several of the better online scanners, sometimes including 'HiJack This'. Do a thorough check for malware, following all of the steps at one of these Web pages. For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you owe it to the author.
