Hi

I am having a problem with a computer (XP Pro SP2) which won't display https
web pages, reports that page could not be found. It displays all other web
pages OK. I have run a spyware scan and removed a number of IE resident
nasties but the problem still exists. I have cleared the temp files, checked
the security settings for ssl and tls and all appear OK. Using Firefox
browser on the same computer, https sites work fine. I even tried
uninstalling IE7 and going back to IE6 but problem remains.

Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks in advance.

Is Use SSL 2.0 checked?  If not check to enable and click ok
Did you type the url?  Was it typed correctly?
Did you follow a link?

Do you mind listing the url of page/pages you're having issues with?

Hi Russ.  I have been on this for weeks now.  I fixed this prob!!!!  It's NOT
spyware, NOT a virus or any other freakish thing.  I'm not sure what to call
it, but this is how to fix it:
open your ie window, then go to Internet tools, then advanced tools, then
scroll down to Http 1.1 settings - uncheck both 1.1 and 1.1 through proxy
connections.; click apply, ok then close window and re-boot your computer.

Next, go back to IE and open tools, advanced tab click on the "Reset
Internet Explorer settigs" button.  Click apply, then ok, then close and
reboot your pc.

This fixed my https probs.  I hope it does yours.  Good luck to you
