You must be hoping for a lucky guess when you supply so little
information about your problem.
What version of Internet Explorer?
What version of Windows?
What, exactly, does "refuses to display any web pages" mean?
Any error messages (provide exact text)?
Does Event Viewer supply any additional information?
What were you doing on the computer immediately before the problem began?
Any other clues as to what might be causing the problem?
With apologies to the Beatles:
...And, in the end, the answer you take
Is equal to the question you make...

- Per the subject Explorer 7
- Windows XP
- Says the same thing to any page you call up "Internet Explorer cannot
display the webpage"
- Looked at Event Viewer at the time, non of the items looked unusual to me,
but I probably wouldnt pick anything up unless it was obvious
- He says he was deleting the Google Toolbar just before this started
(although he hadnt removed it when I starting trying to put things back).
- Nothing else odd happening
Prefer U2 to the Beatles!

1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).
2. Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

Thanks for your help Frank. Have run all you suggestions, but Explorer still
not displaying any pages.
Nothing found on malware scan.
One matter confuses me more than anything, is that Netcsape Navigator (which
I installed after this problem occurred) runs fine?
Any other suggestions???

I see I am not the only one having this problem. I too have tried EVERYTHING
to correct this issue, even attempting to uninstall IE 7. It all began after
microsoft did an auto update and literally restarted my PC. So Now I am told
I have to PAY for phone support. RIPPPPPPOOOOOFFFFF. I can throw all
microsoft in the CAN. Withou IE, no updates will be allowed. GO apple, Go
apple!!!!!

Looks a bit like our problems may be the same, although I hope not. Will let
you know if I have any success.

What internet security program are you using?

I got my explorer working. I have parental controls on the computer which
require me to be signed in to my internet provider in order to open any
browse on the computer.
Somehow explorer wasn't recogniziing when I was signed in. I deactivated
the parental controls and then reactivated them (I guess that is akin to
uninstalling internet security and reinstalling it), and explorer starting
working properly. Thanks.

I've sorted it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband elaborated, that when trying to delete the Google toolbar from
Explorer, he had denied a software change through our internet security
programme just before Explorer died.... Couldnt find anything inside Trend
Micro about this, but have uninstalled (ran registry cleaner) then
reinstalled internet security & all is fine with Explorer now.
Yah for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
