When I say start windows update the browser fills only half the screen.
If i click at the top where it shows you say size and i click on it I can
size the browser.
After I close it down and go to update again say in a couple of days it is
back at half size.
I have internet short cuts to say the mormon church that used to bring the
browser up full screen now comes up in a small window size

Hi,
Open a webpage. Stretch it out to fullsize. Don't use maximize.
Choose any link on that webpage and right-click> open in a new window.
Stretch that second window out to the desired size- don't use maximize.
Close the first IE window. Then close the second window.

HUh-Duh!,

Actually the answer is much simpler.  Right click on your IE or other short
cut.

select Properties

In the run box, select the maximize

Select Apply

Select OK

You're done.

When I am talking about the browser I am saying that when I open IE& it opens
full window, Whwn I go to a site and want to be able to return there I create
a favorite shortcut, it is these shortcuts that bring up the browser window
at half size.
This puzzles me because the shortcuts used to come up full window and it
doesn't matter how many times I streach it, if I close down and in a couple
of days go to that link again it is at half size.

Hi,
Did you open two IE windows, resize them, then close them in the order they
were opened?

No this did not work
I have a feeling you are still talking about IE7 and its browser and not
when you add to your favorites and then access one of them, It does not work
with any of them.

Uh Duh,

Favorites is a function of IE& or any browser.  Each has it's own cache and
handling methodology.
Therefore Favorites IS A FUNCTION of IE7 or more precisely  Windows, since
the favorites is used interchangeably internally as well from other Microsoft
products, Outlook, Word, ...

If you set the properties from the Quick Launch tool bar as I messaged
before, All windows that open within IE7 Should be as maximized, unless you
have a setting in your security software that tells windows to open pages
called from currently opened IE pages in normal view.

Right click on the Windows Explorer icon in the Quick Launch tool bar
(before you open IE7)
Select Properties
Select the shortcut Tab
Change the Run selection to maximize
Select Apply
Select Ok
Open IE7
The windows should open maximized.
