I have run into a problem with IE recently. When I type in a search in the
upper right corner of my screen, lets say Alaska, and hit the return, then
choose a link that is listed I get an Ebay "ad" page or a Real Estate company
or something else, but certainly not the link that is listed. And if I go
back and try it again (click on the link) it goes either to Ebay or some
other site, but not the one listed in the link. It doesn't even display the
link for a second and then drop in this other link.
I tried changing the default search engine, and checking thru all the
options listed, but I don't see (or know) what , if anything has changed.
I thought it was fixed, but I tried again today, and get the same problem.
It took three tries to get to the site that was listed in the link.
Using Windows XP, Internet Explorer 7.
ANY information would be appreciated

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**
If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
