I recently downloaded IE 7 to my laptop and it has gone crazy ever since.

IE Version 7.0.5730.11
OS Windows XP Home SP2
I use Google as my home page
I use a cable connection through Road Runner
My Firewall is Zone Alarm

1. Load IE and goes to the home page
2. Enter any web site in the address bar (not Google Search Bar)
3. Opens a blank web page
   Home Page remains open
Opens an error box - Windows cannot find '(nul)' Make sure you typed
the......
4. Click OK in the error box (No other choices)
5. Error box closes
6. Selected web page opens
   Blank web page remains open
   Home page remains open

Please help me through this.

Did you follow these instructions when installing?
http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install

Do you have the same problem when you run IE 7 without add-ons?
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No Add-ons)

Thank you Leonard. I think your suggestions are geared towards Vista and I am
running XP.

However, I uninstalled and reinstalled IE7, without too much pain, and the
problem has been solved.

No, actually the installation instructions are only for XP, since IE 7
is preinstalled on Vista, and the 'No Add-ons' is geared to IE 7 itself,
not the operating system.
