IE7 cookies problem

I have owned my PC since October, 2006.  I have consistently been
running IE7, and I have had little problems until now.  About 2 weeks
ago, I noticed that I was having to repeatedly sign into web pages.
Prior to that, I could sign in to my Gmail, Yahoo, and several other
services, and I would only be prompted for a password every other week
or so.  Now, I am being prompted every day after I turn on the PC -
sometimes, several times each day.  My passwords are being saved (I
can double-click on the sign-in box, and it will auto-fill the user
name and password fields for me), but the cookies are somehow being
expired.  The cookies seem to be there when I do a View Files in IE7
options.  I have tried deleting temp files and cookies numerous
times.  I have checked and double-checked my IE options, even tried
putting adding Google and Yahoo into the privacy Allow list, but
nothing works.  I have checked my antivirus, anti-spam, and firewall
settings (CA Security Center), nothing is set to delete cookies (I
even disabled the CA Firewall, reverting to the Windows firewall).  I
am running Windows XP Media Center Edition and IE7.  I have ran
complete scans with the CA Anti-Virus and the CA Anti-Spyware, nothing
is turned up.  What could have happened?  How can I fix this?

Hi,
Is CCleaner installed? An earlier version of CCleaner caused cookie problems
even when cookie managment was disabled.

No, I did not have CCleaner installed.  For troubleshooting purposes,
today I removed the CA Security Suite and replaced it with McAfee
SecurityCenter, although I have successfully been running the CA
Security Suite since January.  This problem started happening roughly
two weeks ago.  Also, being a computer support professional myself, I
wonder if rebuilding my profile might solve the issue (although that
is a last-ditch solution at best).

Have you tried deleting the Cookies folder for your user account (by logging
in as another user with admin privileges?)

FYI - Just to follow-up on this matter - after removing the CA
Security Suite and installing McAfee SecurityCenter, I had no problems
all night long.  I shut my PC down overnight, and when I woke up, I
powered it back up.  My web sites seem to be remembering their
passwords again - problem solved.  Something must have changed within
the CA Security Suite that was affecting my cookies and/or their
behavior.

Go figure  ;-)
Thanks for the update.
