Hello

I have recently purchased a laptop with IE7 and Vista. The internet
connection worked through broadband fine for a week and then, after
installing zonealarm and a windows update, stopped working.

I've restored the computer to its original state with the backup disk (tried
to use a restore point but it would not work).

IE7 will connect sporadically to some sites - for example, it will sometimes
download the BBC website but not the pictures (which appear as a small red
cross), it won't work on Google or eBay at all. I have switched off
absolutely everything in the way of firewalls, protection etc to no avail.

My broadband provider states that everything is all OK at their end, which I
believe on the basis that it works for parts of some sites. I've also tried
everything in the help files to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Mark

Try uninstalling Zone Alarm to see if that resolves your connectivity
issues.

Hi Jim, thanks for the response.

I have uninstalled Zonealarm and rebuilt the whole thing back to the state
it was in when it was delivered to no avail.

Mark
