Well I think I have found the problem, when downloading Adobe 8.1 from the
site, mcafee recognizes the executable as a virus, but allows it to download
and install, I think this has something to do with mcafee, the funny thing is
Adobe works with Netscape Navigator with no problem.

Thanks. Sounds like System Guard feature. Registry changes may trigger it.
