Alright...When I click on IE a blank window pops up for like a tenth of a second then closes and I can never get IE to open! I've tried starting it without add ons, reseting the settings, tried reinstalling it even started it in safe mode and it still doesnt want to open. If it's IE7 on WinXP: Go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer look for ieproxy.dll Move it to C:\Windows\Sytem32 Now go to Start | Run and Type regsvr32 ieproxy.dll and press <Enter>. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without Add-ons? Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). 2. Tools | Internet Options | Advanced Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Internet Explorer Settings. 3. For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you owe it to the author. Don't install any extras you're not sure of. Now what? And I'm runing IE7 on Windows XP home edition : Alright...When I click on IE a blank window pops up for like a tenth : of a second then closes and I can never get IE to open! If anyone has any other good ideas that would be awsome!! : Thanks I had the same thing. In the control panel, go to internet options and change the homepage to BLANK. In my case it was a newly installed spam filter that didn't like my homepage. Got IE to come up by doing the above and then fixed the spam filter later. Larry |
