Windows operating system, please?  Vista? XP?

Right click on IE desktop icon and select Start Without Add-ons.  Does it
still persist
If using Vista, Start>Run>Type in  iexplore.exe –extoff in order to run
without add-ons.

If you have no issue, you have a conflicting add-on and can re-enable them
one by one to locate the bad one.  Remove it, reboot and relaunch IE.

You might also try a browser reset.  Tools>Internet Options>Advanced
Tab>Reset button.

Did you try without Add-ons?  Or browser reset?

Try Tools>Internet Options>Connection Tab>
Click on Lan Settings Button
Check Automatically Detect Settings
Click Ok twice

Have you installed the User Agent String?  You'll find the download in the
Release Notes under Accessing websites that only work with Internet Explorer
6.

And, it is possible you have a corrupt install which means to
uninstall/reinstall IE 7.  See the Release Notes regarding Uninstall/Install
issues.  Check the Log for errors.
