I have IE7 running on XP Professional.  Recently IE started to crash when a
browser window was closed.  All open windows were then lost.  It can be
restarted and allows me to move from site to site but never close a browser
window.

Hi JT,

Does this happen when you run IE7 in no Addons mode..
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer (no-Addons)

If this fixes the problem then you will know it is an addon (recently
installed) that is causing the problem. You can either use the Addons
manager to selectively disable each addon to find the culpret or disable the
addon toolbars and browser helpers by unchecking "enable third party browser
helper objects" on the Advanced tab of Internet Options.

Some toolbars install an old version and then prompt to check for updates
when you install them. You may also like to check with the vendor websites
for any updates for their products.

Regards.
