I have uninstalled NAV and still have this same problem. The laptop is only a
few months old and Dell has been no help other than they have determined that
there are other people out there with the same issue. They did suggest I
download Firefox and give that a try. Not gonna do it. Also they told me to
contact Microsoft. Is that possible without being charged $59.00 to point out
what a pain in the a.s it is being one of the customers?

Norton software can be very difficult to uninstall completely. Give the
Norton Removal Tool a try:

In general, you wouldn't ask a hardware supplier (Dell) about a software
problem. Dell didn't write the software, they just install what Symantec
sends 'em.

You would think, except I didn't ask Dell to install NIS and any of the other
crap that came it. My understanding Dell is no longer installing crapware on
the new units they ship because of issues like these. Thanks for this link I
will give it a try tonight, I hope you are right. Sorry but I'm still going
to rant a little anyway. Dell sold me the computer end of story. They are
responible for the software they insrtalled on my computer. Who else would I
contact, Microsoft maybe. HA, and assuming you are right how would I know the
problem was with Symantec?

Windows version?
Did you also run the Norton Removal Tool?

Did you install another AV app, manually update it & then run a full system
scan?
