This is a bug report for Microsoft. Or if anyone else has a fix?

I've lived with this problem as long as I can, and now I just want a fix.
The problem is with IE7 and Virgin Media's PC Guard. The problem with IE7
also occurred with what was then NTL Netguard, before virgin bought the
company. It didn't happen with IE6.

When using Virgin Media's PC Guard, the privacy manager section, all the
cookies from trusted sites are deleted (even though they shouldn't be) when
the PC is restarted - or shut down. To me, this is a bug that needs fixing.

I reported this to microsoft via connect when IE7 was still in beta. No fix
was offered in months. A further 6 months down the line (probably more), and
well out of beta, and still this problem exists.

I've reported this to virgin media, who say it's microsoft's fault, and they
can't do anything about it.

Why are microsoft and virgin media not working together to iron out this
bug? I can't believe I'm the only person fed up of 10 or so sign-ins on
restart, all because of this bug. I also have to reset my search preferences.
At least 10 minutes are wasted doing all this. Every time I turn on the PC -
or restart for whatever reason.

Can you please help with a fix, before I defect to firefox?

I use CCleaner and it preserves the cookies I want to keep. It is really a
super free program. Might look into it.

I'll give CCleaner a try, and turn off the virgin media privacy manager. I
still need virgin media PC guard on my system though, for the firewall and
antivirus.

Unfortunately, swapping the cookie manager doesn't work. All cookies from
trusted sites are still deleted, even with the privacy manager section of PC
guard turned off.

I would have to remove PC guard from my system, but can't do that, as it's
also my antivirus, antispyware, firewall, etcetera. The only solution is a
fix of this bug between Microsoft and Virgin Media. Which neither of them
seems willing to do.

I'm going to have to try and report this bug direct to microsoft and virgin
media again.
