Using Vista with IE 7 at my  Home with wireless cable connection,  I can
access my https work site fine. It connects to the site, lauches the java
applet okay.  At the  hotel location I stay,  using their wireless connection
it connects the https site okay but when it comes to lauching the applet, it
does not.  I used my other laptop with XP and it works okay at the hotel.
Both computers have same settings antivirus, firewall,  etc.  What is
preventing this java applet from launching on this computer with Vista Home
Premium at this hotel site?  This works okay there with my other laptop with
XP. What settings should I check?

Have you installed Java on the Vista machine?  Vista does not come with
Java.

Yes,  Java  is installed. I can access my work site at home fine but not at
the hotel. And it's just the applet that won't work. The https site comes up
okay. With my laptop with XP on, everything works okay at the hotel. So
something is preventing that applet from launching on Vista, but I can't
figure out what.
