Just out of curiosity. Why are you posting via the WEB interface. A newsreader would be a better option for you. Much more easier to follow the posts in newsgroups.

When I used Outlook, I didn't realize my email address was going to be
public. I received mails from unscrupulous characters in another Microsoft
area discussion forum. I didn't appreciate it and I quit it to be quite
frank. Not saying that clicking on links posted in messages in this forum
hasn't spawned a bunch of unsavory spam but at least my addy is private
(until I click links, huh?).
Besides, this being a discussion forum based at Microsoft.com, you'd think
it would load faster than it does. The new interface seen in areas does and
I do expect that maybe soon they'll revamp the old interface.

Why not munge your email ady or set up a new account with Hotmail and use that as a dummy as I do.. That is what I do and I just empty the mail without even looking at it. That account is full of spam and I really do not care at all. My real email ady is known to only a selected few and that is the way I like it plus there is no spam at all in there.

Munging email addresses does nothing to reduce the level of spam - its the
equivalent to sticking your head in the sand. If your intention is to ignore
the spam problem, and you are willing to accept the hassle it creates for
both you and any third-parties you may wish to receive email from, then
munging is for you - just make sure you do it properly and you don't pass the
spam problem on to others.

Besides, what about having to look/search for info when responding? You
still have to open a webpage and it's much easier to do with the new tab
function in IE7.

Peter, I like the web interface; as long as I remember where I am up to, lol.
And I don't require answers.
