In system requirements, it lists Windows XP System Pack II and XP
Professional, etc. Plain old Windows XP isn't listed. I'm having to download
IE because IE under my log in just disappeared-well, first it randomly said
it didn't work, then it disappeared. It's still there under my Mom's log in.

Before you do uninstall or reinstall IE7,  do a complete scan for a virus or
malware.  Ensure you do not have hidden trojans, worms, etc.... on your
system.  A browser doesn't disappear but it does corrupt for some reason.

Use this page to uninstall the IE7 you say disappeared.  You'll just
rollback to IE6.  Then you can reinstall IE7.

See the Installation Errors.  It tells you how to find the logs so you can
view installation problems.

You click on Start and type in the log name just as it's listed.
Ex:  %windir%/ie7_main.log
Click ok and the log will appear in a few seconds.

IE7 runs fine on WinXP Home provided Service Pack 2 is installed.
