Printing Error in IE7

shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 15:26 GMT For some reason, every time I try to print in IE7, I get an error message, "An error occurred during this operation." This problem just started on Saturday. The last time I tried to print was on Thursday and it worked fine. Between those days I didn't install any new software, that I was aware of.
I am running the latest updated version of XP. I am not having printing issues with any other programs. The last update to XP was about a week ago, and things worked fine after that update.
It was like one day it worked and the next day I am getting this error message. I have reinstalled IE7 and also cleared out my temp files, but still having the error message.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Anish - 16 Jul 2007 16:44 GMT Hi
This problem could occur because of the Scripting error on the computer Please try to create a new user account and try to check out whether the same issue persists with that new user account
If it happens the same with the new user account then You need to Follow the steps given below
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe-4a91-93cf -ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en
Download this subinacl.exe and try to install this Once this is installed. Please http://janakchettri.googlepages.com/reset.bat click on this link. This is the registry which will make the subinacl tool to be excuted on the registry.
Please run this. It might take 15 to 20 minutes to be completed once this is completed restart the computer and we need to install the Windows Script Engine 5.6 software
That can be downloaded from the following link
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb -95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en
Once this you run this tool. This will fix all the script error problems.
Restart the computer and check whether you have the same issue while trying to printing.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
Thanks, Anish
shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 17:42 GMT Anish,
I appreciate your help.
I did create another user and had the same issue.
I then followed your instructions and in the end the problem was still there.
I am not sure this was a script error simply because the message that came up wasn't a "script error" message.
So, any other suggestions?
Thanks, Scott

> Anish, > [quoted text clipped - 45 lines] > > Thanks, > > Anish shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 18:12 GMT No error code. Just a message window that pops up. In the heading is the text that is in the tab I am on and the message is just simply "An error occured during this operation." and a radio button that says "OK" for me to click on.
I did a screen capture that I can send you if that would help. Nothing that says script error or anything like that (I have seen script error messages before and this is not one of them).
Very strange, right?
Thanks, Scott

I searched a lots of resources and found that by re-registering the IEPeers.dll the issue can be fixed.
If you still have the same problem uninstall the IE 7 and reinstall the IE 7 back again.
I hope this can resolve it
Try this lets see what happens and thanks for the screen shot which you had given me
Thanks, Anish
shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 19:14 GMT Anish, how do I re-register the IEPeers.dll?
I did do a reinstall of IE7 and that did not solve the problem.
Thanks again for your help.
Scott
> Thanks for being patient Shappy, > [quoted text clipped - 11 lines] > Thanks, > Anish Anish - 16 Jul 2007 19:32 GMT Hi Scott,
Sorry i dont know how i missed it
Click on start and run and type the following command
regsvr32 iepeers.dll
This will re-register the Iepeers.dll file if still issue persists Uninstall the IE 7 and reinstall the IE 7 back again
> Anish, how do I re-register the IEPeers.dll? > [quoted text clipped - 19 lines] > > Thanks, > > Anish shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 20:12 GMT Well, I did as you indicated and restarted, still same problem.
So I uninstalled IE7 and reverted back to IE6, and here is where it gets interesting...when I try to print in IE6 nothing happens. I hit ctr-P and nothing. I go to file and print and nothing. I can do a print preview, but when I hit the print button in the preview, nothing happens.
Weird, right?
Going to reinstall IE7 now, but I have a feeling that is not going to do it.

I have found few suggestion which you can try on this
Click on start -> Run -> Type the following commands one by one and re-register them
regsvr32 /u vbscript.dll regsvr32 /u jscript.dll regsvr32 vbscript.dll regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 iepeers.dll regsvr32 Msjava.dll regsvr32 Mshtml.dll regsvr32 Urlmon.dll regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
Try to restart the computer and check whether the IE 6 print options comes up for you If you still have the Problem
install the windows script engine software from the following location
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a 22b832caa&DisplayLang=en
This things you can try from your side If this is not going to work out for you we need to reinstall the IE 6 on the computer Which needs the Windows XP SP2 Cd to be with you
Please let me know what happens
Thanks, Anish
shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 21:22 GMT Anish,
I'll try this and get back to you.
BTW, my computer is a Dell Laptop that didn't come with any CD's. It is from my work and they preped it before sending it to me. However, we can cross that bridge when we get there.
Thanks again for the help and stay tuned!

> Hi Scott > [quoted text clipped - 33 lines] > Thanks, > Anish Anish - 16 Jul 2007 21:28 GMT I hope the first few steps resolve the issue for you I am sure because all the resources i have suggested that
Click on start -> Run -> Type the following commands one by one and re-register them regsvr32 /u vbscript.dll regsvr32 /u jscript.dll regsvr32 vbscript.dll regsvr32 jscript.dll
can fix the issue but if that doesnot work follow the other steps i had given
Hoping for the best result :)
Thanks, Anish
shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 21:48 GMT OK, did everything you indicated and still no luck :(
Something I did notice, when I went to my printers control panel, it doesn't show either my Epson printer or my CutePDF writer and when I click on the "Add a new printer wizard" nothing happens.
Not sure if this means anything or not.
Also, just to see if I could still print in other apps, I tried to print a Notpad doc and got this error message, http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/4285/wordpadprintingerrorjt3.jpg followed by the error message I have been getting all along.
Printing still worked in Word and Excel. I am wondering if this is an XP problem and not just in IE problem.

When I tried to run that one, I got the following error message, "LoadLibrary("Msjava.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.
Restarting now.
> Hi Scott > [quoted text clipped - 33 lines] > Thanks, > Anish Anish - 16 Jul 2007 21:54 GMT That msjava.dll doesnot really matter. Dont worry about it The first four commands was most important ones
lets see if this works then reinstall the IE 7 on the computer
I hope it will work for you
Thanks, Anish

I am afraid to say this operating system files needs to be reinstalled.
Thanks, Anish

I just wanted to thank you for all your time and effort yesterday. It looks like I have a bigger problem than I thought. I noticed that my Windows calculator file is simply gone and when I try to use Windows explorer on my c: drive, it takes almost 30 seconds of the searchlight before something comes up. I think I may indeed have to reinstall XP. I just wish I knew why this all happened, and how.
Thanks again, Scott

andy
shappy0869 - 30 Jul 2007 16:14 GMT I searched around, suspecting that maybe cfgmgr32.dll was corrupt. I found a download for this file at: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...shtml?cfgmgr32
Replace it in your system software and reboot, should solve the problem.

shappy0869 - 16 Jul 2007 22:44 GMT Frank, tried that, no luck.
Anish,
Tried everything you said. Even changed users, same result.
I think I may need to reinstall windows, which means sending my laptop back to my employer. :(
