I am using Windows XP SP 2. After I installed the microsoft updates to my
computer, it's a complete nightmare: Windows registry corrupted; IE 7
crashes; error messages pop up; my SBC browser crashes. I am really tired of
these problems. Can someone help me please? Thanks.

I know of two causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons:  What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Malware already installed on the computer:  Help with malware

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author.  See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything.  Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along.  Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

I too have been having a lot of crashes and I have done everything I can
imagine to do as far as self tech support.  I scan, clean, check for malware
and viruses.... I have even go so far as to go back to a previous time/date.
If the internet explorer doesn't like what it's doing it pops up an error
block I push report error and it does it's thing and I push close and it
closes all internet pages and I have to redo it. This continues on like
calling an ex and having them slam the door in your face. What's a gal to do?
