I've just upgraded to IE7 & notice that the "Show Pictures" box in Advanced
Settings is unchecked so I'm just getting icons in web pages. When I click on
Restore Advanced Settings or manually check the "Show Pictures" box this
solves the problem but only during current session. The changed settings are
not saved. How do I permanently save the Advanced Settings.
Thankyou

It might be a security program blocking the Registry change it needs to
make.  A few of the programs now doing this are:
Ad-aware's Ad-Watch
Fsecure
McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware
Norton AV
Spyware Blaster
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Spysweeper
Windows Defender
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5 Reported to be fixed in later versions.

In the case of Zone Alarm 6.5 it actually has to be uninstalled.  Make sure
the Windows Firewall is turned on until you reinstall Zone Alarm.

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try the change.

In the Advanced tab you will have another button called Reset

before clicking on Reset http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
Read the above article to know how it works

After doing the IE Reset try to do the changes you want see whether it works
for you

Thanks,
Anish
