Just downloaded the latest version, 7.0. With 6.0, when I used to go to my
ftp site; ftp.lesvants.com , a window would open asking for my password and
username. After supplying them another window would open showing the folders.
Now I get this:
FTP root at ftp.lesvants.com
To view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open
FTP Site in Windows Explorer.
Is this step really necessary? Can I set 7.0 up to go directly to open ftp
site in Windows Explorer?
Thanks, Airpix

Hi Airpix,
IE7 changed the way that uses access ftp sites to remove the Internet
browser from the shell browser for security reasons. Its been that way since
the early beta releases.
The best way to manage your ftp connections is to add them to your Network
Places in the shell browser. Start the Windows Explorer and navigate to My
Network Places and choose the 'Add a network place' wizard. Once created
with your logon credentials it is easily accessed from the folders side pane
in Windows Explorer.
You can then add a shortcut to your Favorites or Links to that folder, but
it will not open in folder view in IE7, but opens in a Windows Explorer
process.
There are third-party tools for file transfers, like BitTorrent, but beware
the shareware versions may be bundled with unwanted ad-ware.
Regards.
