I'm having an issue with IE7.  Occassionaly i get the error message where it
says that there was a problem and that it needs to shutdown.  This gets very
irritating for i have multiple tabs open.  Is there a fix for this?

Hello,

can you reproduce the issue when you've started IE without add-ons?
Press [Windows-key] + R -> iexplore -extoff -> Enter
