When I try to download a certain thing or try and do something on the net
this box comes up and no matter what I choose I cannot get through to get
what I want. It is like when I want to download a diagnostic tool for HP and
then this box pops up. Is there a workaround tom this or do mwe just have to
live with the way it is. Thanks guys.

Allan:

You won't get anywhere in this newsgroup if you expect us to know what
"a certain thing" is, or what "try and do something on the net" means,
or what "this box" is; and nobody can guess what versions of Windows and
Internet Explorer you have or make sense of your Subject line. You need
to ask a specific, detailed question and summarize the issue with a few
well-chosen words in the Subject line. Give us a break so we can help you.

I am useing windows Vista with IE7. It is a security box forbidding me to go
any farther than either close this program or find then solution and then
close this program. Either way it will close the program.

You always need to post the exact wording of an error message - it makes
a difference. You also need to describe exactly what you were trying to
do when you saw the error message.

Most problems with IE 7 in Vista have one or more of these causes:

1) Incompatible add-ons - run IE 7 without add-ons.

Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and select Start
Without Add-ons

If this solves your problem, enable add-ons one at a time until you find
the add-on that is causing your problem. Remove that add-on and replace
it with a version (from the publisher) that supports IE 7.

2) Configuration issues -  Reset IE 7 to its defaults

Tools  > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Reset Internet Explorer
settings > Reset button > close IE 7 and restart it

3) Viruses and other malicious software (collectively known as
'malware') - Scan your system for malicious software with /several/ of
the better online scanners (Kaspersky, Eset, Trend Micro, Panda, Sophos,
Symantec etc.) and, if necessary, submit a HiJack This log to one of the
expert web sites that analyze these logs.

Are you trying to Run the program when you download it?  If so, click Save
and save the program to your documents.  Once the download completes, double
click on the file and execute it.  If you see the warning again, it may be an
incompatible file and you'll need to look for an updated version.

Vista has diagnostic tools that may be of help.
