You've had IE7 installed since Oct-06 (apparently): Has IE7 always behaved
this way (i.e., since you installed it) or is this sudden, new behavior?

You should not have 2 versions of IEXPLORE.EXE in C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer, although both of yours are valid IE versions. (Each version
corresponds to a recent Cumulative Security Update for IE7, but installing
the most recent update should have removed the IE7 version associated with
the earlier update.)
The fact that you originally installed the Yahoo-customized version
(apparently) /may/ have something to do with it, but I can't tell you for
sure.
If the various methods of uninstalling IE7 details in 927177
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177) don't help, your only other options
are (1) opeing a free Support Incident (see previous reply); (2) doing a
Repair Install (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917964); or (3)
formatting & reinstalling Windows.
[No, I don't think you'll be able to overinstall IE7.]
Best of luck.

Is this how I open the free Support Incident by calling this number?
Unlimited installation support is available by phone at no charge until
November 1,2007 (866-234-6020)
thanks
