Hi Jerry,

The error message "blah blah blah.... could not be read" usually occurs when
an Addon toolbar has locked certain keys in the registry to stop homepage
and search provider hijacking. Earlier versions of the 'MSN' (now Live)
toolbar as well as the Google desktop search also showed up with this error
message.

Try running IE7 in no Addons mode first.. Start>(All)
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer (no Addons)

If that works, check with the vendors of your Addons for updates for their
products or uninstall any addons that you may not need (usually you can
uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs applet)

Also check your Security settings for Scripting on the Security tab of
Internet Options.

Regards.
