strange ftp site behaviour

Our users have been logging onto an ftp site using IE6 and one user with IE7,
without issues. The IE7 user has used the "Open FTP site in windows explorer"
option in the page menu for easier viewing/sorting of the files on the ftp
site. However as of today when he selects this option the ftp site reopens in
a new IE7 window (minus the detailed view of the files and displaying them as
web links rather than files) instead of a Windows Explorer window with the
detailed view of the files. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? The PC
in question is XP SP2.

Thanks in advance

=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?  To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

Thanks for you answer PA Bear. Unfortunately I haven't been back on site to
look at the PC in question and try your suggestions. As the different ftp
view isn't a matter of urgency to the company involved, I think it will be
some time before I'm there again!
