How can I stop my IE 7 browser opening at:
http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx
I have chosen my settings before but they never save because a javascript
error occurs when I click Save Settings:
Line 81
Char 5
Element Not Found.
This is extrememly annoying. Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

See:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945385
"A blank Web page is displayed when you start Internet Explorer 7".
Also see:
"Problem: IE always goes to http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx instead of
your homepage": http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp

Microsoft's solution does keep it from going to the Runonce page but
it would be nice if they added a link to fix the real cause
explanation and a solution.  For instance, if it happens on the
runonce page it will likely be happening to you on the Add Search
Engine page.  The MS fix does not address the real problem. :-(

Most likely scripting is disabled.

The way I succeded was through regedit:

Edit/Find:

"bDidPerformSyynchRunOnce" and Change REG_DWORD from "1" to "0"

Then exit Regedit, Run IE7, ignore another MS page opened, click on Homepage
(assuming you have already entered its address in IE7 options) and that's it.

Note that if you use some other browsers using IE7 as a base, you don't have
such a problem.
