I'm unable to download programs onto my computer from the internet. When I
click the download button, the next screen asks me if I want to run or save
the program. When I select "save," the program is not downloaded or saved,
it just reverts back to the same screen. When I select "run," the program
downloads, but then does not run and I cannot find it on my computer. Please
help!
Thank you.

Try this workaround. Right click the file you want to download and choose
Save As.

I am having the same issue and your suggestion did not work. Do you have
another? I already tried resetting back to the original settings, no luck.

Sorry, I don't have any additional suggestions. Hopefully someone else does.

Hi Lori
I am having the same problem, but Bob's suggestion did not work for me. Did
you find another solution?

Hi,
Certain programs and toolbar extensions to IE have so-called download
managers which can interfere with normal downloads in IE.
You did not indicate which version you have but in IE7 you can go to the
tools menu -> manage add-ons -> enable or disable add-ons and check what
kind of add-ons are installed on your copy of IE.
For troubleshooting purposes you can disable all add-ons and see if the
program downloads normally again.
If it does, you can enable one add-on at a time and check with a quick
download which one was the problem.
hope it helps.
