Sorry, I didn't notice that you had replied to the April 7 thread.
There's no harm in uninstalling/reinstalling IE7 in Win XP. You should
uninstall toolbars first and follow all tips at
Known issues - Installation tips - IE7:

Did you try Firefox?

I read all the things to do on the site you gave me, I'll try to reset the IE
and see if that is the problem, if not I'll try firefox, I see microsoft has
a new IE 8.0 beta, wonder if it has problems, thanks

Do you know what "beta" means with regard to software?

I sure do, I had a few bad experiences in the past with beta products, whti
I've been reading about the IE 8.0 it looks to be as bad as their vista, with
the problems I've had lately with IE I may try firefox, just as before they
can't leave well enough alone.

A crash with a beta is not a bad experience. It is an opportunity to report
a problem.

Hi,
Sorry we haven't gotten this resolved. As Leonard hinted, IE8 will almost
certainly not fix this.

You could also take a look at it from the point of view that the message
is misleading and just trying to tell you "something is wrong."
In that case, it could be something quite different such as a difference
is User-Agent strings.
Since, as I understand it, you have two systems, one working in this scenario
and one not, try comparing the two in terms of their User-Agent too.
You can use the browserspy site to do that but in order to see the actual
received headers interpreted I suggest this site instead:
http://www.fiddlertool.com/useragent.aspx
Watch in particular for differences caused by different add-ins.
They are notorious for causing web sites to cause unexpected
results by incorrectly parsing or interpreting them.
