Hi,
Windows XP or Vista? (Might or might not matter.)

Try these steps:
1. Clear the Temporary Internet Files.
2. Start IE  without add-ons from:
Right-click the IE icon on the desktop. Choose Start without add-ons.
or
Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
Any difference?
3. Turn on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall and
disable any third-party firewall or security suite. See if a third-party
program is causing the problem.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hi,
I asked...

Oh... It's in the Subject  :-)

This machine probably came with a security suite/firewall from Norton,
McAfee, etc. Which one? Are you sure that program was disabled?

Hi,
Internet Connection: Cable, DSL, dial-up? Is a router involved?
