Hello,
My husband and I are having the same problem on two different computers with
two different printers.  When ever we print a web page from I.E.7 the text
comes out really really small.  So small that it is almost unreadable.  We
have tried changing the text size in different places with no luck.  Is
there something we are doing wrong or need to do?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Check the Page Setup tab on your printer (if you have one).   You may have
"fit to page" selected and it is condensing the size to fit on one page.

OK what I did was go to "Print Preview" and it was set at "Shrink to Fit" by
default.  Printing the web page that way was way too tiny.  I clicked on the
down menu and selected "100%" and that enlarged to print size to readable
but then it cut off some of the text!
Still a problem.

IE7 is set up to automatically shrink the page contents to fit onto a page
(at least left and right) when printing. What you need to do is go to print
preview (one of the options at the arrow to the right of the print button).
On the print preview page, where it says "shrink to fit," click the arrow to
the right. That will open a list of percentages. If you choose 100%, you'll
print the page as it appeared on-screen. Of course, you can change to any
other percentage that suits you.

It's a nice feature, since it keeps words from being cut off on the
sides--but most of the time I prefer 100%. What I'd like to know is whether
there's any way to change the default on the print preview page to something
other than shrink to fit.

OK I tried that but now it's cutting off the text on the sides.

Try something lower than 100%, or change your margins (I don't know what the
default margins are, but I've changed mine to .25"; this is done in Page
Setup, which is in the same list as Print Preview), or highlight (select)
what you want to print and then go to Print Preview and click on the arrow
to the right of "As laid out on screen." That will bring up "As selected on
screen." Then decide if you want to shrink to fit (with less text, that
might be readable) or choose a percentage.

Hi again Jo-Anne.
I changed the margins and tried both the "As laid out on screen" and used
different percentages, all cutting off by different degrees.  So next I
tried just turning the page to landscape which then worked.  I guess that is
the best/only solution at this time.
Thanks for your replies.

If you selected text to print, you'd choose "As selected on screen." The
particular webpage must be crammed full horizontally, or you wouldn't need
to print landscape. I've had to do that on rare occasions too, though.

Yes, I think that is the problem.  The page I am trying to print is crammed
full of text from right edge to left.
Thanks for all your replies.  At least I now know what to do for other
problematic pages.
thanks again.

[Where did you learn all of this, Jo-Anne? <wink>  Thanks for helping out!
Stick around.]

Will do! It's mostly what I learned here, of course. So much still to learn,
though. (Haven't responded yet to your latest OE message, but I printed off
all the Inside OE material last night and will start going through it
tonight.)
