Recently when I go to look at my Verizon Wireless bill (for instance, this is
also a problem on other sites), I click on the "View and Print" bill link,
and IE7 opens a new tab that is blank (it is supposed to open the bill in PDF
format that I can print or save).

My PDF add-in settings are OK (and I can see/save PDF documents on other
sites).

I have emptied the temporary files and cookies.

For grins today I downloaded and installed Firefox, and everything works
fine there (on the VW site), but not at the same time in IE.  BTW- I notice
in Firefox that there are ads on my homepage that don't show up on the same
homepage in IE.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I don't remember
telling IE to do that, nor can I figure out where it would be done.  I have
tried Content, Security, and Privacy settings with no solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

That would be Acrobat Pro 8.1.2  . . . by Adobe.

Windows version?

Have you contacted Adobe Support?

Do PDFs on these other sites open in a new tab or window, too?

XP Pro, Service Pack 3 (same problem in 2)

No.  Since I can see and print PDF documents on the web at other sites, and
since I can see and print PDF docs even on the Verizon site using Firefox, I
don't see how it could be an Acrobat problem.  I HAVE contacted Verizon
support, but I don't expect anything will come of that either (especially
since I don't have a problem in Firefox).

It has to be a setting in IE7.  Just don't know which one.

Thx.

I asked if you'd contacted Adobe Support, not Verizon Support.

Is a third-party pop-up blocker installed and enabled?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed?  What
anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?  What third-party firewall
(if any)?  Were any of these applications running when you installed IE7?
When you installed SP3?

I have a ticket in with Verizon. I called on it Friday ans they said they
were aware of an issue with the web site and they were working on it.

Thanks for your feedback.  Are you and "jeffhess" the same person?

One way would be by misusing a HOSTS file to redirect some site names
to a non-existent IP address...
